This is a qualitative study addressing the pre-operative educational activity with laryngostomized patients through the Pedagogy of Problematization – The Arch Method, which consists of the observation of reality, key-point, theorization, solution hypotheses, and application to reality phases. As a result of its dynamic and flexible nature, it was possible to meet the needs presented by the five patients included in the study, who evaluated positively the experience. The need for the development of interpersonal skills by nurses dealing with different therapeutic situations during educational activities became evident.
