Pediatric tumors are an unsual disease. However, they are an important health problem, because they have been the most common cause of death due to disease, among children, in developed countries. In addition, they present greater clinical and epidemiological diferences than those of adults. Presenting these data according to the adults' model is inadequate as well as inaccurate. This work proposes that Brazilian population-based cancer registries classify pediatric tumors by histologic types, present them by a percentage of the total of the absolute numbers, and distribute thein in one-year intervals until the 15 year old age group. It is also proposed to include all nervous system tumors, both malignant and benign.
