The authors show the importance of the multidisciplinary participation in treatment of oncologic patients about the prevention and treatment of oral damage induced by head and neck irradiation. The main secundary effects are: xerostomia, mucositis, irradia tion caries and osteoradionecrosis. The dentist has to perform preventively to avoid the appearance of this sequei or reduce its effects.
