This article aims to provide a historical summary of cancer care in the 30 years since SUS was created constitutionally and the 28 years since it has been regulated by specific legislation, seeking to share with future generations the challenges for improvement and progress in dealing with new knowledge and diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, not always effective or cost-effective, and which steadily and progressively present themselves for cancer prevention and control.Downloads
