Adenocarcinoma primário e precoce do esôfago superior

Apesar de o adenocarcinoma primário do esôfago ser uma afecção rara, sua incidência vem aumentando nos últimos anos. As hipóteses mais aceitas para explicar a etio-patogenia dessa doença são metaplasia glandular, persistência de mucosa embrionária, mucosa gástrica ectópica e degeneração de glândulas submucosas do esôfago. Sua única possibilidade de cura é através de um diagnóstico precoce, seguido de resseção dentro dos princípios oncológicos. Apresentamos um caso onde foi feito o diagnóstico precoce. A lesão era originária de degeneração maligna de glândulas esofágicas remanescentes e o seu tratamento cirúrgico foi curativo.
