Apesar dos grandes avanços na área médica, os resultados do tratamento do câncer da mama não se modificaram nesses últimos 50 anos. Isto fez com que certos conceitos tidos como definitivos fossem revistos. Este trabalho analisa a evolução terapêutica do câncer da mama e enfatiza as novas opções de tratamento, particularmente o tratamento conservador.
