Resumo

Este trabalho é uma revisão do processo da diferenciação celular, enfocado, de modo especial, em nível molecular. O câncer pode ser considerado como uma doença da regulação gênica, fruto de uma aberrante modificação da expressão gênica. Algumas situações práticas, afora o câncer, são também consideradas no escrito, como, por exemplo, a metaplasia e a gradação histológica dos tumores malignos.
