Abstract

This survey evaluated patient compliance to the Cervix Cancer Program, at a Health Care Unit of Pelotas Federal University. Two hundred twenty four women aged 15-55 years who had appointments at the Health Care Unit were interviewed, by means of a standartized questionnaire, inquiring on family planning, smoking, sexual activity, papsmear (if she has ever taken one, how long ago and what was the result). Of the women that answered the questionnaire, 81.2% had already taken a papsmear, thus 18.8% had never taken it; among women with active sexual life, almost 80% had taken a papsmear. This data reflects high coverage of the program.
