Carcinoma de células renais. Estudo retrospectivo clínico-patológico de 46 casos

Forty-six cases of renal cell carcinomas from the INCa were analysed from January/76 to December/85. Clinical and Pathological features were compared with those described by other authors. There was a preponderance of males. The incidence was higherin the 6th decade of life (one case occurred in a 5 years-old child). The most frequente symptoms were hematuria, abdominal pain and weight loss. The triad hematuria, pain and palpable mass was found in four cases (8.6%). Metastases involved mainly the lungs, bones and lymphonodes. In conclusion: clinical staging showed to be important in prognosis. There was a statistically significant difference between survival in regional and advanced disease.
