It is well known that laryngectomy, besides producing loss of IaryngeaI speech, causes important psychological reactions that need adequate assistance in order to adapt the patient to his new condition. On the other hand, from Iearned empirical observations, there is a number of factors that may aid in defining those patients who will benefit from voice rehabilítation program. This study analyses possible ways of organi zing therapeutic and preventive plans that may help in improving rehabilitation and, consequently, quality of life. The results obtained in the study of these factors are presented.
