Emotional Support, Hodgkin's DiseaseAbstract
Hodgkin's disease patients were seen monthly during a whole year by an oncologist and a psichologist with the purpose of informing the patients about their disease and to allow them to express their feelings about having a malignant tumor. Hodgkin's disease patients were chosen because, in general, they are young, have good prognosis, and their treatment is usually associated with important acute side effects and late sequellae such as castration. This initiative resulted in an unique experience where learning and teaching were mixed together and became a single unit for both patients and physician.
