Diagnóstico Diferencial das Lesões da Bôca: Parte I: Lesões Não Blastomatosas.

Abstract

In the presente paper the author studies in the first place, the general symptoms as wel as the usual resources for diagnosis of oral lesions, emphasizing the nescessity of an accurate and routine direct examination, regarding mainly its prophylatical advantage. The oral cavity due to ts great accessibility allows an easier and more direct visualization of its lesions than any other cavity of the body. This direct examination therefore should be the basis for further examinations. The oral lesions are devided n neoplastic (Blastomatous) and no neoplastic (no blastomatous) lesions. In this article only the former are studied. The word precancerous is not used due to the fact that such lesions may or may not lead to cancerous formation. Classification of the lesions is based on pathological, clinical and embryological findings. As the author’s ntention was more towards building up the clinical diagnosis of each case, radiology and histopathology were not extensively considered. Each tumor group was studied in general way, special consideration beeing given to the most frequent lesions.
