Breast Cancer Treatment and its Impact on Quality of Life

Facing breast cancer diagnosis women experience moments of intense anguish, suffering and anxiety by associating it to death. During treatment, life style changes are necessary due to losses and symptoms experienced by the patient. Results from studies of their quality of life can be important tools in clinics. Also they can help women adjust their routine. Thus, this article aims at reviewing the literature, concerning the impact of breast cancer treatment on the quality of life. There are conflicting evidences in literature about treatment effects and several instruments are used to measure the quality of life. Yet, in general, breast cancer treatment presents major negative influences on patient's quality of life. Thus, women need psychological support, information about treatment consequences and assistance because of their new condition.
