Abstract

Metástases to the breast from extramammary neoplasius are rare, particularly from ovarian carcinoma. The authors present two cases of breast metástases due to ovarian adenocarcinoma and review the previous literature of this unusual clinical feature. In spite of its rarity, it is important to distinguish metastatic from primary breast cancer. Both prognosis and treatment are significantly different. Usually metástases to the breast from the ovary signal widespread disease and generally lead to a rapid clinical deterioration and death. Because of its poor prognosis, surgical procedures are usually unnecessary. But we must be aware that ideal treatment can differ from one patient to another.
