Abstract

Primary leiomyosarcoma of the lung is an extremely rare tumor. No typical roentgenographic findings or unusual complex of symptoms distinguish this tumor. It remains confined to the lung for much longer than bronchial carcinoma. Metastases occur lately and in less than one third of the cases. The treatment is essentially surgical. The authors describe a case of a 50 years old woman with a high grade malignancy primary leiomyosarcoma of the lung, its prognosis and treatment.
