We compared two groups (A and B) of patients with lung cancer and pleural effusion. The A group with 21 patients, we performed pleurodesis with tetraciclin or mitomycin, and the B group of 66 patients without pleurodesis. The A group was patients with a rapid relapses of pleural effusion and a possibility of survival of months To not choose good performances status for óne group, we randomized the patients with initial for both groups, that the Mann-Withney test was equal to both. We performed the Kapian-Meyer survival probabilily curve and the test of Cox-Mantei to compare the two groups. The survival was longer for the patients with pleurodesis (p = 0,0 16502).
