Hypertrophic osteoarthropathy has been most frequently associated with lung cancer. Rarely, it has been reported with metastatic lung dísease, particularly from osteogenic sarcomas, soft tissue sarcomas, nasopharyngeal tumors and uterine tumors. The authors report the first case of a syndrome of hypertrophic osteoarthropathy associated to a mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the parotid gland metastastic to the lung. This syndrome suggested the presence of intrathoracic pathology. Ressection of multiple lung nodes brought transitory relief of the symptoms.
