An useful technique to perform neurolytic celiac plexus block for treatment of pain due to either primary or metastatic cancer of the upper abdominal víscera is described. A complete review of the regional anatomy is done and the clinical results of 80 treated patients are presented and analised. In absence of peritoneal metastases, neurolytic celiac plexus block is the best technique for treatment of pain caused by cancer of the upper abdominal viscera.
