Abstract

An anatomical description of the temporal bone, and the surgical steps of the tepmporal bone resection are presented. Surgical excision of the temporal bone is the best way to treat malignant tumors arrising in the middle ear. The authors stress the importance of perfect knowledge of anatômical structures in performing temporal bone resections.
