Detecção do Câncer Pulmonar: Indicações da Toracotomia

Abstract

The A. studies the problem of lung câncer according to the present means at disposal. He emphasizes the need of systematical and periodical examinations of the age group abone 40 years, mainly among the smoking males. He underlies the importance of spreading the knowledge among the lay people and also among doctors, in under to diagnose lung cancer in its asumptomatic period. Concluding, he says: a) — only surgery will cure lung câncer; b) — the patient showed under to surgery with anatomo-pathological diagnosis; c) — Prevent loss of time, by insisting on pre-operative diagnosis; dl — thoracotomy, is not only diagnostical but cures as well; e) — nowadays thoracotomy is nearly as benign as laparatomy.
