Resumen

Até a década passada, o uso de marcadores tumorais em ginecologia oncológica esteve ligado basicamente à gonadotrofina coriônica humana (HCG), no seguimento das neoplasias trofoblásticas: ao antígeno câncer 125 (Ca 125), nas patologias serosas do ovário, e ao alfa-fetoproteína (AFP), no seguimento dos tumores do seio endodérmico. Entretanto, com a identificação dos anticorpos monoclonais e a intensa pesquisa na busca de novos marcadores tumorais, a monitorização das neoplasias malignas ganhou um novo impulso.
