Cáncer de Mama en la Población LGBTQIA+

El cáncer de mama es una preocupación global de salud pública, afectando a millones de personas cada año. Sin embargo, la experiencia de esta enfermedad puede ser particular para la población LGBTQIA+ que, muchas veces, enfrenta desafíos únicos con relación a la salud. Frente a la relevancia del asunto y a la falta de investigaciones y estudios sobre el cáncer de mama en la población LGBTQIA+, este artículo de opinión busca resaltar la importancia de un enfoque inclusivo en el tratamiento y en la prevención del cáncer de mama en esa comunidad, explorando las injusticias existentes y proponiendo estrategias concretas para promover una salud más equitativa, como las disparidades en la salud, los factores de riesgo específicos, los desafíos psicosociales, la promoción da concientización y de la educación, y la inclusión de esa población en estudios de investigación.
