Since 1979, 52 patients, totalizing 72 procedures, ha ve been submitted to alcohol-induced adenolysis of the pituitary gland, in the “Instituto Nacional de Câncer" and “Hospital Adventista Silvestre". Partial or total relief of pain was achieved in nearly 80% of the these patients.
