Biópsía Percutânea nas Lesões Neoplásicas do Esqueleto

O autor discute novos conceitos a respeito das biópsias ósseas. Propõe a utilização das biópsias percutâneas nas lesões neoplásicas primárias ou secundárias do esqueleto. Apresenta a técnica do método fechado através de agulhas de diferentes calibres e formas, em 209 pacientes, em regime ambulatorial e sob controle radiográfico. O método mostrou-se seguro, econômico e relativamente indolor, fornecendo amostras de tecido suficientes para o diagnóstico histológico, citológico e bacterioscópico, com uma precisão de 85%. O método não impede a realização posterior de biópsias abertas e contribuiu sobremaneira para aumentaras indicações de cirurgias conservadoras que evitam a amputação.
