Nutritional therapy with antioxidants concomitant to the antiblastic drugs administration show many benefits for the treatment of oncologic patients. The administration of antioxidant vitamins like A, E and C allied to antineoplastic drugs result in low adverse effects and allows the continuity of cancer treatment, since the toxicity caused by drugs is a limiting factor this therapy. Thus, the nutritional therapy based on antioxidants utilization can to amplify the oncologic therapy and to permit better results on cancer control. This article is a literature review, where some aspects of drug action mecanisms and the formation of free radicals deriving from these mecanisms will be analysed.
