Abstract

The authors studied the effeCt of the cisplatinum (Cis-diamminodichioroplatinum-ll) intra peritoneally administered, over the healing of the small intestine of rat from the histological p0/nt of view, 48 Wistar's male rats with an average weight of 315,5 grams, were opera ted in the Experimental Surgery Laboratory at the Surgical Department of the Medical School from the "Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro". The control group of 24 animais, received sodium chioride 0,9% (20% of the corporeal weight) intraperitoneally, and 24 hours Iate, was performed a medical laparotomy associated with the ressection of 1 cm of the ileum and end-to-end anastomosis with 6-0 sllk suture in total single with continous suture. In the experimental group, cisplatinum was administered (5 mg/kg of body weight togheter with sodium chloride 0,9% in the proportion of 20% of the body weight) and, after one day, the same surgical procedure used in the control, were performed. The animais were sacrified at the 7h 14h and 21s1 postoperative day. The optical microscopic histological survey evidenced: the number of vesseis/field was greater in the group of rats treated with cisplatinum (p < 0,01) and that the trans forming histiocyte and fibroblast number (fusiforme nucleous/field) was greater on the control group (p <0,01) on 7h day postoperative; on the 14 Ih day postoperative, the granulation (p < 0,01); on the 21s1 postoperative, the number of vessels/field was greater in the control group (p <0,001). They're concluded that, the cisplatinum deiays the healing process in anastomosis of the small intestine in rats.
