The author's personal experience is given in regard to late results from treatment of 132 cases of bladder câncer. 41% of the cases were far advanced stage T-4. From the total of 132 patients, 14 survived 5 to 15 years after the operation, some free from câncer symptoms, and others showing late bone metástases or another histologic type of câncer in a different viscera. This gives the author a certain scepticism regarding the real cure of bladder câncer by actual methods of treatment, notoriousiy radical surgery. He believes that great caution should be taken not to cause the patient with such treatments as great or greater suffering than that caused by câncer itself.
