Complicações da Punção de Veia Profunda em um Hospital de Câncer

Over a 5 months period, a prospective study was conducted to examine the complication rate associated with the insertion of central venous catheters on National Câncer Institute. Rio de Janeiro. The overall complication rate was 28,7%. Complications with morbidiyty were, mostly found with subclavian catheterization. A great incidence of hematoma as complication, probably associated with pacient anatcmy abnormalites was found.
